CARROTPAINT
Emma Isabella Aluise

Emma Isabella Aluise, who creates under the name Carrotpaint, is a multidisciplinary artist and psychology student at Northeastern University. Her work spans photography, zine-making, and op-ed writing.

Emma’s photography began in concert spaces, where she became fascinated by the unspoken conversations between musicians and their instruments. Since then, her work has expanded across genres.

At Santa Monica College, she founded the Photography Club, where she curated collaborative zines that uplift student voices. She plans to continue making zines with a growing focus on activism.

Emma’s writing centers on institutional abuse, especially her personal experience in the troubled teen industry. As a psychology student and emerging researcher, she focuses on learned helplessness, identity disruption, and the psychological impact of therapeutic abuse.
Through her creative and academic work, she aims to challenge systems of harm and amplify the narratives of TTI survivors.
